Story boarding in class:
A storyboard is a graphic organiser that plans a narrative.
You usually story board before and after filming.
Story boarding is a easy way to show your vision and a communication tool for the director to crew (camera etc, dop)
-It also allows for far easier groups
- allows you time to plan before hand and not on set
- allows you to experiment
-visually see / plan the edit
The story board is very helpful for after filming for the editor to understand what and where everything goes.
Included on the storyboard is : movement of camera (panning, moving). Lighting or dialogue, important props and costumes, sound, timing, transition, location, shot number, action, timing
Things to remember: camera composition and framing (rule of third) (foreground) (symmetry) editing.
